Dance Makers has always kept its students’ physical and mental well-being at the heart of its mission — and that is more important than ever as Maryland navigates the COVID-19 pandemic. We take this situation very seriously and remain committed to providing quality dance education while observing protocols that keep our students, parents, and instructors as protected as possible.
We encourage all parents to carefully read through the precautions below that Dance Makers is taking, and contact us with any questions.
Keeping Our Students Safe
Please keep in mind that the following information is not meant as a substitute for professional medical advice or recommendations. As news regarding COVID-19 is constantly changing, Dance Makers refers you to national and local public health officials for the latest information. If you, your child, or anyone in your household has any symptoms related to COVID, we urge you to stay home and call your doctor.
How is student safety being ensured?
CDC guidelines are strictly followed at Dance Makers, which means masks must be worn inside of the building at all times, and social distancing is observed. Upon entering the building, everyone must have their temperature taken (anyone whose temperature is above 100.4 is not permitted) and sanitize their hands. And as much as we love our supportive parents, they are not allowed to congregate in the building in an effort to reduce crowding.
What extra cleaning measures are Dance Makers taking in light of COVID?
In addition to strict hand sanitizing among students and instructors, classrooms are cleaned with bleach before and after each class. We encourage students to attend class in clean attire and properly sanitize any equipment beforehand.
How have operations changed?
To promote social distancing, we are staggering our class schedules. Students will enter from the front of the building and exit through the back as the next group enters. This limits unnecessary contact and ensures entrance protocols (temperature check and hand sanitizing) are properly enforced.
I’m skeptical/nervous to sign up for a dance class. What do I need to know?
We understand your feelings and that is why we’ve taken the precautions outlined above. Our top priority is the safety and well-being of everyone that walks through our doors. We also believe it’s important to be upfront about the risk and therefore ask each parent to sign a COVID-19 Risk Informed Consent agreement before their child attends class.
