Our Dance Classes

Dance Makers offers classes designed to meet students at every stage of their dance journey. Each program follows a structured curriculum that builds skills progressively while adapting to individual learning styles.

Ballet: Ages 6-18

Ballet teaches students proper body alignment, turnout, and classical technique through structured exercises at the barre and center floor work. Students master positions, turns, and jumps while developing the strength, flexibility, and discipline that form the foundation for other dance styles. Our instructors emphasize correct form to prevent injury and build lasting technique.

Pointe: Invitation Only

Pointe work requires students to demonstrate sufficient ankle strength, proper ballet alignment, and consistent class attendance. Our instructors evaluate each dancer individually to determine readiness, typically after three or more years of ballet training. This careful approach protects developing feet and allows dancers to progress safely.

Jazz: Ages 6-18

Jazz dance classes teach isolations, kicks, turns, and leaps set to contemporary music. Students learn to execute sharp movements with clean lines while developing stage presence and performance quality. Our curriculum includes both technical exercises and full choreography pieces.

“My daughter has attended Dancemakers for almost 10 years, and the sisterhood, technique, and opportunity she has received since being there is amazing. This studio is exceptional in pushing our girls to present their very best while offering them dance skills, social skills, and life lessons that they will carry with them always.” – Angela G.

Hip Hop: All Ages

Our hip-hop classes teach foundational street-style movements, including popping, locking, and breaking, along with current commercial choreography. Students develop rhythm, coordination, and freestyle skills in an encouraging environment that celebrates individual style.

Lyrical/Contemporary: Ages 6-18

Lyrical dance combines ballet technique with modern dance principles to create emotionally expressive performances. Students learn to interpret lyrics through movement, developing artistry alongside technical skills like controlled falls, sustained balances, and fluid transitions.

Tap: Ages 6-18

Tap dancing teaches rhythm patterns through specific sounds created by metal taps on the shoes. Students learn shuffles, flaps, cramp rolls, and time steps as they develop musicality and timing. Classes progress from basic single sounds to complex rhythmic combinations.

Kinderdanz: Ages 3-5

Kinderdanz introduces dance fundamentals through activities that match young children’s attention spans and physical abilities. Students practice following multi-step directions, taking turns, and moving through space safely while exploring creative movement.

“Looking for a dance school? Look no further. Both of my daughters have been enrolled in Dance Makers for a few years now in different classes. Hip Hop and Kindedance. The entire staff is super warm, welcoming, and friendly. The instructors are very nurturing to all of the kids and are very involved and encourage the kids to do their absolute best.” – Janel H.

Totz Town: Ages 18 Months to 2 Years

Totz Town welcomes our youngest dancers with parent-and-me classes that introduce basic motor skills through music and movement. Tumble Tots focuses on physical development, while Twinkle Toes and Tutus add creative movement exploration.
